Family Child Care Program learns about animals with Cincinnati Museum Center

On March 7, children within Santa Maria’s Family Child Care Program were greeted by Cincinnati Museum Center Learning Specialist and Educator, Megan Parker. Megan met children and Family Child Care providers at the Price Hill Recreation Center as part of the Center’s Program on Wheels outreach. The educational experience known as Tall Tails taught children about animal adaptations. The children were excited to learn about different characteristics of a variety of animals, and Megan shared with each of the children unique features of animal tails. Children volunteered to wear different animal costume tails as others guessed which animal the tails belonged to. Santa Maria’s Family Child Care Program hosts similar activities quarterly to provide children and providers with access to meaningful enrichment experiences that are easily accessible.
