Santa Maria Hosts Let’s Talk Reading Camps this Summer

Santa Maria Community Services is pleased to present Let’s Talk Reading Camps in partnership with COSTARS Early Childhood Services from BestPoint, the University of Cincinnati, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids). Reading camps are free and open to any family with a child aged 3 or 4 years old, and every child will receive free books and a backpack (RSVP required – see below).

What is it?

“Let’s Talk” is designed to help improve language and literacy skills in children as they begin to read. Children engage in language and literacy lessons while parents meet in a separate room to learn strategies on how to support their child’s development.

Program:

  • Parents and children (ages 3 or 4 years old)
  • Activities that are both enjoyable and educational
  • Guidance for parents to interact with children in the home
  • Free Books and Backpack for each child
  • Participant door prize drawing on the final day

When?
The reading camps will be held from 1- 2 p.m. at the Price Hill Branch Library (970 Purcell Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205) on the following Wednesday afternoons:

June 21st
