Santa Maria Community Services, Inc. Receives $30,000 Grant from the L&L Nippert Charitable Foundation

Santa Maria Community Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that it received a $30,000 grant from the L&L Nippert Charitable Foundation. This grant will be used to assist with implementation of a career education and coaching project for Santa Maria’s Workforce Development program.

Santa Maria’s Workforce Development program provides High School Equivalency (HSE) classes and coaching, career education, financial coaching, and connects participants to in-demand, job-relevant training and certification programs. The HSE program offers free HSE preparation and test registration services to low-income individuals. The career education and coaching project will include outcomes such as HSE completion, employment attainment and an increase in net worth.

“Santa Maria’s HSE program provides educational tools and resources to those in the community who are most at-risk, using secondary education to move individuals and their families out of poverty,” said H.A.
