Passport to Success: Celebrating Cultural Diversity

Santa Maria Community Services, Inc., a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening the community, is thrilled to announce an all-new annual fundraiser, Passport to Success. This exciting event will occur on Thursday, October 5, from 6-9 p.m. at The Miami Township Event Center, located at 3780 Shady Lane, North Bend, OH 45052.

Passport to Success is a vibrant and engaging event that will replace Santa Maria’s previous fundraiser, The Sharing Table. With a fresh approach, this year’s event aims to unite the community to celebrate cultural diversity and the collective spirit of achievement. Attendees will have the opportunity to embark on a memorable journey of exploration through cultural exhibits and demonstrations.

The highlight of the evening will be an inspiring personal story shared by special guest speaker Dominique Badji, Forward for FC Cincinnati. Mr. Badji was born in Dakar, Senegal, and emigrated to Tanzania and Zimbabwe before finally making his home in the United States. As a professional athlete and community advocate, Mr. Badji will provide valuable insights about how nonprofits are especially vital for immigrant populations in Cincinnati and beyond.

Emceeing the event will be thirty-year television veteran Courtis Fuller from WLWT-TV, whose charismatic presence and passion for community engagement are sure to enhance the evening’s festivities. Mr. Fuller’s expertise in connecting with audiences will ensure a memorable and entertaining experience for all attendees.

Passport to Success will offer a variety of exciting activities and opportunities in which guests may participate. Raffle baskets and silent auctions will provide a chance to win unique prizes and experiences. Furthermore, attendees can look forward to engaging games, exciting entertainment, and the thrill of winning attractive prizes.

In keeping with the theme of cultural diversity, the event will feature captivating cultural demonstrations, including energetic salsa dancing performances and other activities from various countries. Attendees will also have the opportunity to savor delectable cuisine from different parts of the world, experiencing the rich flavors and traditions of diverse cultures.

Proceeds from Passport to Success will directly support Santa Maria Community Services, Inc.’s impactful programs and initiatives. With a focus on education, health, and community development, Santa Maria has been instrumental in transforming lives and empowering individuals in the Price Hill community for over 125 years. By attending the fundraiser, guests will make a meaningful contribution toward building a stronger, more vibrant community for all.

“We are excited to launch Passport to Success as our new annual event, embracing the spirit of cultural diversity and community,” said H.A. Musser, Jr., President and CEO of Santa Maria Community Services, Inc. “This event provides an opportunity for individuals from different backgrounds to come together, celebrate our collective achievements, and support the critical work of Santa Maria. We invite everyone to join us for an evening of fun and inspiration while helping Santa Maria make a positive impact on our community.”

Guillermo Villa, Chair of Santa Maria’s Board of Directors, praised staff for creating an exciting and all-new fundraiser, “The Santa Maria team has done an excellent job of coordinating an amazing evening. Where else would you be able to engage with a professional athlete and a Hall of Fame newscaster in one place?” Villa extended a warm invitation to the community, saying, “Come join us and have an enjoyable time while supporting the important work that Santa Maria does to help individuals and families achieve their education, financial, and health goals.”
