Santa Maria Community Services (SMCS) would like make renting less stressful! Rent Wise: Tenant Education is a course that educates renters about their rights. Class participants will get one hour of financial education around basic money management and the remaining time will be spent specifically on all things housing. Covered topics include: budgeting, applying and searching for affordable housing (both income-based and market rate), the eviction process, leases, and landlord/tenant law. Participants will also receive valuable resources around utilities, lead prevention, roach/rodents infestations, and communicating with neighbors and landlords.
Classes run from 9:45 a.m.-3 p.m. on Fridays, February 14, March 13 and April 10. February’s class will be held at SMCS Griswold Center, located at 3214 Warsaw Avenue. March and April will be held at SMCS Literacy Center West, located at 3208 Warsaw Avenue. We provide lunch, supplies and certificates of completion. We ask that you please do not bring children to this class. You must RSVP to attend at 513-557-7203. See you there!
