In these challenging financial times with ever-changing tax laws, Santa Maria Community Services wants to make it easy for you to file your taxes. We have two programs to choose from: the Westside Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program and The Assisted Self-file Program.
The Westside VITA Program is returning to the Elder Schaeper Center at 3900 Vincent Avenue in Price Hill. Don’t pay to get your own money back. We will prepare your taxes for free. If you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, you may receive additional cash back (up to $6,431). Get your return prepared and e-filed for FREE! IRS-certified VITA volunteers provide tax-preparation services to older Americans, low- and moderate-income filers, people with disabilities and those with limited English language skills. Appointments are currently being scheduled by calling United Way at 211. They are scheduled on Saturdays between February 8 and April 4, 2020, 9 a.m to 1 p.m.
The Assisted Self-file program at the Santa Maria Community Services Financial Opportunity Center, located at 2918 Price Avenue in East Price Hill, offers tax coaching and onsite expert assistance. This is an opportunity for taxpayers to prepare their return themselves with a certified preparer available to answer questions. Don’t leave money on the table. Nearly 70% of U.S. tax filers qualify to use MyFreeTaxes, a United Way supported program that is easy, safe and free. Walk-ins are available on Mondays, February 03 through April 13, 2020, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesdays – Fridays are by appointment only by calling Tonicia Green at 513-557-7288.
You earned your money. Keep more of it. Let Santa Maria help!
