The Center for Respite Care announced Santa Maria Community Services as one of its 2023 Transformation Award honorees. This recognition highlights Santa Maria’s commitment to making a transformative impact on the lives of individuals and families in Greater Cincinnati.
“We are humbled to be recognized alongside other individuals and organizations who have made a difference in the lives of people in our community. This recognition inspires us to continue our vital work, addressing the ever-evolving needs of our community,” said H.A. Musser, Jr., President and CEO of Santa Maria Community Services.
Founded in 1897 by two Sisters of Charity, Santa Maria Community Services has remained a steadfast presence in Cincinnati, offering support and resources to over 2,500 individuals annually. Over the years, Santa Maria has evolved into an independent nonprofit agency that addresses the diverse needs of the community, focusing on creating strong family units, promoting community unity, and fostering a safer, more vibrant, and inclusive Price Hill community.
Santa Maria’s mission is to be a catalyst and advocate for Greater Price Hill families to attain their educational, financial, and health goals. Its goals include preparing children for kindergarten, assisting families in achieving economic stability and integration into the community, and promoting health and wellness through access to essential services and support programs.
Musser further emphasized Santa Maria’s commitment to empowerment and sustainable impact, stating, “We aim to empower individuals and families in the community to become self-sufficient and resilient. Our goal is to provide them with the resources, skills, and support necessary to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.”
The Center for Respite Care serves adult individuals experiencing homelessness from the Greater Cincinnati area with acute medical issues. They are hosting the virtual awards ceremony with emcee Liz Bonis from Local 12 on September 14, 2023 at 7 p.m. at www.centerforrespitecare.org.
The Transformation Award from the Center for Respite Care is a testament to Santa Maria’s significant contributions to the Greater Cincinnati community, and the organization is honored to receive this recognition.
