Long-time supporters honored

On June 7th Santa Maria honored its long-time supporters, Joe and Joann Rumpler, at the 20th Voices of Giving award ceremony, an annual event that recognizes philanthropists who have made a bequest or other planned gift to Cincinnati charities.

It specifically celebrates the generous spirit of these individuals whose gestures help to ensure the long-term welfare of the many local non-profits which make our community so special.

It has been nearly 20 years since Joe first joined Santa Maria’s Board of Directors. Joe was a strong and faithful Board member, helping to ensure Santa Maria’s fiscal strength with his professional accounting background. Joe served two full terms on the Board from 1999-2004 and then returned to the Board for two years in 2008 and 2009.

During his Board service, Joe served on the finance committee and since that time, Joe and Joann have continued their support of Santa Maria through financial support and attendance at Santa Maria’s special events. Joe designated Santa Maria as a contingent beneficiary on his IRA account.

Joe shared, “We believe that Santa Maria is a caring agency that provides effective programs, improving the lives of those in need. This is a way we can support them in the future.”

The Rumplers’ gift will contribute to sustaining the ongoing operation of Santa Maria after their passing. We are deeply grateful for the Rumplers and for their example of selfless giving.
