Santa Maria Community Services is excited to announce it has been awarded a grant through the Bahmann Foundation to provide free hearing exams and hearing aids to five individuals.
The Bahmann Foundation’s mission is to reduce isolation of low-income, older adults through technology. Their main services include hearing services and devices as well as education on hearing loss, using hearing aids, helping those with hearing loss, maintenance and care of hearing aids, and assistive listening devices.
The grant will provide five applicants with one hearing aid, audiology visits, fittings, batteries, and repairs. These hearing aids will be given to individuals who live within the Greater Price Hill area, are age 65 and older, and are under or uninsured and/or living below the 250% poverty line.
