Every second Thursday of the month, moms from the Price Hill community come together and meet for the Santa Maria Price Hill Mom’s Group. On May 11th, 2017, the Mom’s Group came together for a Mother’s Day celebration at the Price Hill Recreation Center. The meal was catered by one of the moms and included greens, baked barbeque chicken, mac-n-cheese, and sweets. During the event, the women experienced a hand-written, inspirational poem read by one of the fellow moms. The event was a time for moms to celebrate the hard work of motherhood, spend time with one another, and share their experiences as mothers. Not only did the women get a chance to hear from other moms about their experiences, but they had an opportunity to win great gifts through raffles and discuss upcoming plans for the summer. Overall, this event was a great way to bring moms together as a community and to celebrate their lives as mothers, as well as celebrate each other. All of the moms had a great time coming together and having the opportunity to empower the moms of Price Hill.
