Santa Maria Community Services Secures Grant from SC Ministry Foundation, Igniting Growth of Promoting Our Preschoolers Program

Santa Maria Community Services is proud to announce that it has been awarded a one-year grant from the SC Ministry Foundation for its Promoting Our Preschoolers (POP) program.

President and CEO of Santa Maria Community Services, H.A. Musser Jr., said, “We are grateful to SC Ministry Foundation for their continued generous support of our POP program. This grant will allow us to continue our important work of helping families and young children prepare for kindergarten and beyond.”

The POP program is designed to be family-focused and collaborative. Through home visits, parents receive support, education, and referrals for their children and the family as a whole. Children receive developmental screenings and educational supplies and participate in home or group-based learning opportunities that help build their reading, language, and social skills. POP seeks to create a seamless transition into school for preschool-age children while removing barriers to school readiness.

The SC Ministry Foundation is dedicated to promoting the mission and ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. Their support for the POP program is a testament to their commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in the community. The grant will run from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.

Musser added, “We believe every child deserves a chance to succeed, and the POP program is a vital part of our efforts to make that a reality. We look forward to continuing our work with families and children in the community, and we thank the SC Ministry Foundation for their partnership in this important endeavor.”
